HeartCore Updates

In October 2015, Heart Niagara launched an innovative strength training program and facility called, HeartCORE.  Age and ability friendly, HeartCORE membership has steadily increased due to its unique high-intensity, low-frequency weight training that takes only minutes per week to complete.

On July 5th, 2016, Heart Niagara and HeartCORE relocated to 4635B Queen Street in Niagara Falls. The new 6,000 sq ft. space has allowed the organization to increase services and improve access to programming in Niagara.

What’s New with HeartCORE?

After hearing everyone’s feedback after HeartCORE’s relaunch week, we have made the changes you requested! We have a new and improved schedule, please disregard the previous schedule and follow this update moving forward. By providing group classes we are better able to assist our members in achieving their health and fitness goals. We are excited to be part of your health and fitness journey.

We’d like to offer you a current HeartCORE member, a deal only $20 a month to attend unlimited classes. Attached is the summer schedule of group classes. We also have a drop in rate of ONLY $5 per class, so get your friends and family ready to come enjoy some great classes. We can’t wait to see you there! Some of the classes that will be offered this summer include:

Body BootCamp Core Strength Stretch & Fit
Body BootCamp is a physical activity class that is focused on using your own body weight for strength training and cardio training. This class occurs twice a week (Monday’s and Thursday’s). The main goal of this class is to get your heart rate up and keep you moving. This is a circuit style class, which means there will be workloads followed by rest. Core Strength is a physical activity class that is focused on developing and maintaining core strength. Did you know your “core” consists of your abdominal, oblique’s, glute muscles, hamstrings and quads. Therefore it is important to maintain the strength of all of these muscles in order to have a strong core. Having a strong core is important in preventing injury and maintaining proper posture. Stretch & fit is a class is focused on flexibility and posture. During each session the exercise performed will be focused on strengthening posture as well as a full body stretch. This class will always include a warm-up and a cool-down to ensure the body is ready to exercise and take on daily tasks. This class is especially beneficial for those who sit long periods in a day or have aches and pains from daily tasks.

The classes are offered in the morning and evening and all classes are open to ages 14 and up. Class sizes are limited to 10 people (Bootcamp, stretch & fit and Core Strength), this will allow the instructor to provide feedback to participants and ensure that each exercise is performed correctly and safely. Yoga and Zumba will be relaunched in September, so keep an eye out for an updated schedule then!
