Thinking About “Flow”
When you think of energy, think of the word flow. For things to work their best, they need a harmonious flow. If we socialize, we want our conversations to flow. If we are painting, we want our paint and roller to flow. If we are creating, we want our colours and patterns to flow. Well, we need our energy to flow as well for a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
We know we need our circulation system, which is the flow of our blood and lymph systems, to work well. When that energy system works well, it brings clarity. We need clarity to keep us balanced and to help us make the right choices and have a positive influence the world around us.
In the coming weeks, I will share with you some tools from our tool kit to keep our energy system flowing. A lot of these tools are actually very easy to use and are easily accessible for everyone. These tools include breath, dialogue, negative ions, aromatherapy, meridians, and acupuncture.
In the first lesson, we are going to become aware of our breath. Breathing is the most important function that our body does. Without breath, we die, and we never give it a thought unless we are struggling to catch or take a one. It is the only function our body does that is both voluntary and involuntary. This just means it happens automatically and we can also control or influence it. Being aware of your breath and using different techniques to control your breath are both simple things that you can do everyday to keep your energy system flowing and working properly.
