Numerology

Have you ever wondered about numerology, why people use it, and how it works? Again, it is an interesting topic that fascinated some, and is dismissed by others.

Numbers are included in all we do, and have been shared in all cultures since ancient times. They seem to have a general meaning and in numerology, all things are reduced to a single digit. 

The zero is a paradox. It can encompass all with no beginning and no end, yet also represent nothingness to destruction. Zero is not used much in numerology because it does not have a specific vibration, as it is all and no vibration at once. 

Wherever one appears, something is coming into being. 1 relates to beginnings. 

The number two is about relationships, either companionship or conflict. 

The number three relates to important concepts like past, present and future. The three dimensions of space which are force, matter and consciousness. The triangle is used in architecture and astronomy to calculate distances.

The number four is the number of stability, like four legs on a table or a chair. It represents the elements of earth, fire, air, water, and their states of solid, liquid, gaseous and flame. 

Five relates to the fifth element which is ether. Ether flows around around and within the four material elements energizing and connecting them. This is symbolized by a five-pointed star. 

The number six is like a spiral found in many prehistoric artifacts.

The number seven brings with it a fresh level if understanding. There are seven days in a week, seven notes in a music scale, 7 main visible colours in the spectrum, and seven is the 1/4 f the moon cycle. The number seven is related to change.

The number eight has dual meanings. Eight doubles the stability of four, and it follows the number 7, which potentially leads to a new level. The number eight has a sense of structure and on its side, it is the new symbol of infinity. 

Nine is a number of completion and transition. Nine is the inly number that always reproduces itself when multiplied by another number (6x9=54, and 5+4=9). If all of the digits up to and including nine are added together, the sum is 45, and reduces to 4+5=9.

Numbers are all around us and numerologists have a formula they work with for a personality number, a life path number and a destiny number. They use single digits that correspond with the alphabet as follows:

If your name was John Smith:

JOHN (1+6+8+5=20)= 2 

SMITH (1+4+9+2+8=24) 2+4=6

2+6=8. 8 would be the destiny number.

The life path number is the total of your birth.

If your birthday was November 10th, 1977:

1+0+1+1+1+9+7+7=27

2+7=9. 9 would be your life path number.

The personality number is calculated b the day of the month you were born. If you were born the 27th of a given month, 9 would be your personality number. 

This is a subject that one could write about forever, but today, these are the basics and the formula.
