This week, Heart Niagara employees attended the first-ever Canadian Emergency Care Conference in Toronto. The Heart and Stroke Foundation and Canadian Red Cross Society partnered and hosted the conference which focused solely on the life-saving science of first aid and resuscitation.
They educated participants on the science and practice behind the newly-updated Canadian Guidelines for First Aid and Resuscitation. The new guidelines, released in October 2015 are based on recommendations from both the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and are the result of scientific evidence reviewed by experts in their respective disciplines. The ILCOR recommendations are developed into guidelines for Canada by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the IFRC recommendations by the Canadian Red Cross.
Clients of Heart Niagara can feel confident because our staff has received updated information and enhanced their skills thanks to the conference`s Canadian and international experts.
We look forward to sharing our knowledge with you!
