Cooking for a Healthier You
A healthy diet can reduce your risk of heart disease and other ailments and improve your day-to-day life. Each of us make plans to cut down on junk food and eat more vegetables, but it can seem difficult to make lasting changes in behaviour. Heart Niagara can show you how easy it can be to eat better and make sustainable healthy choices.
Cooking for a Healthier You (C4HU) Cooking Classes
C4HU will cover topics including: increasing fruits and vegetables into daily menus, adding fibre, choosing healthy fats, healthy aging, and active living. The cooking class will assist you in building menus with fibre-rich foods such as whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables.
Class schedule and location will be determined in February 2021. We are accepting gently used kitchen items to increase access to families trying to sustain healthier cooking.
Classes are $25.00 each or $90.00 for a series of four workshops. Heart Niagara provides additional cooking classes at a location determined by the group/organization/corporation that will meet the participants' interest. The cost includes tastings of food prepared and hand outs.
