First Aid Training

Heart Niagara offers both Standard First Aid and Emergency First Aid training for community groups, schools, corporate clients, individuals, and families. If you have a group of 10 or more people, you can also contact Heart Niagara (905-358-5552) to schedule your own private course.

Do you need Standard First Aid or Emergency First Aid?

If you are training employees to satisfy WSIB requirements, please visit the WSIB First Aid website and read the Regulation 1101 document. If you are taking a first aid course to fulfill employment requirements, check with your employer to ensure you take the correct course.

1. Emergency First Aid

  • Instruction time: 8 hours, can provided over 1 or 2 days
  • Includes: Level A CPR and AED and a total of 9 modules/topics covered.
  • Certification: Meets WSIB standards and First Aid certification is valid for 3 years. CPR certification is valid for 1 year.

2. Standard First Aid

  • Instruction time: 14 hours, typically provided over 2 days
  • Includes: Level C CPR and AED and a total of 18 modules/topics covered.
  • Certification: Meets WSIB standards and First Aid certification is valid for 3 years. CPR certification is valid for 1 year.
